James Rowe (1822-1856)

We know little of James as he was the only family member to stay in Cornwall he appeared in the 1841 Census as a Tin Miner, with his parents and family.

By 1851 he had moved to Liskeard where he appeared as a mine engine driver, with his first wife Thomasine Scantelbury Stephens (daughter of William Stephens and Thomasine Scantlebury Brewer) , whom he married in 1848 and their first and only, son John Rowe.
